Welcome function

SVM has always dedicated itself to the holistic development of its inmates. It provides ample opportunities to the students to groom themselves through multiple activities specially designed to enrich their minds. With these thoughts in mind we welcomed the new batch of Std XI on 17th June in an interactive session in Shri Atulanandji Auditorium. The Chief guest Mr. Jivraj Patel, Secretary SVM trust delivered a thought provoking speech to motivate students to new paths of discovery & wisdom. The director of SVM School, Mr. Devang Thakore elaborated the general ethos of the school & steered the students towards holistic learning & progressive involvement.

International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was celebrated in SVM Higher Secondary school on 21st June to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The students of classes I to XII, with the teachers, performed yoga with great spirit. Different yoga postures like Vrikshasana, Bhardrasana, Bhujangasana, Prayanama were performed followed by meditation. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline and self control.

ECO – CLUB

Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation (GEER FOUNDATION), is an autonomous body set up in 1982 by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of Gujarat. This foundation along with the National Green Corps is working to conserve the natural resources to create an Eco friendly environment. Under the guidance and leadership of National Green Corps SARAYU ECO CLUB was created in SVM school in June to create awareness of bio diversity conservation and local environmental issues and to create green consciousness among children through various activities. 70 students have become members of this club out of which 30 are from Primary section and 40 from Secondary and Higher secondary section. The club is and will be under taking various activities in the whole year to fulfill its mission and vision. Some activities undertaken by the club are-

7,12 & 20th July, 2019

Tree Plantation

On 7th, 12th and 20th July’ 19 S.V.M school organized ‘ Tree Plantation Day’ for Pre- primary, Primary and Secondary-Higher secondary sections respectively. Students planted saplings at the periphery of the school with the theme “One child, One tree”. Students also prepared charts on the importance of plantation. Students give water to the plants every day. Students learnt that plants help to bring rain, give us oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. Plants give us fruits and vegetables. Students enjoyed the event a lot. “SARAYU ECO CLUB’S goal is to create awareness against pollution and protect our earth from global warming.

Guru Purnima celebration

Guru Purnima was celebrated by the students on 16th July in SVM school to revere their gurus and express their gratitude towards them. Story telling competition was organized for primary section students whereby they had to recite stories highlighting gurus of the yore and their exemplary lives. Competition was adjudged by our English teacher Mrs. Shilpi Gupta. For primary and secondary section students an elocution competition was organized whereby they had to present their speeches on- Guru Parampara of the yore and its applicability today, I am glad not to be living in the 19th century, My present day hero or A historical event I wish to change. Mrs. Shital Shah and Mrs Renuka Pitale judged the event.

Motivational speech

We, at SVM, time and again organize enriching sessions to cultivate exponential learning & effective involvement of the students in myriad activities. One such motivational session was witnessed by the students of Std XI and XII on 17th July when Mr. Ruchir Jani, motivated the students to open up their minds to new things. With the tagline ‘ Zindagi na milegi dobara’ he stimulated the students to rejoice each day & unplug from the stress of studying for some time by various activities.

ENGLISH RECITATION

Poetry takes you to a different world with its viewless wings. To nurture this experience among students an English recitation competition was held on 25th July in the Pre-primary section of our school. Event started with prayer & then the students recited poems on stage with synchronised tone and co-ordination of mouth and rhythm. It was a bliss hearing tiny tots reciting and singing so well.

Blue Day

Our school celebrated Blue day on 2nd August 2019 with our Pre- Primary students. All the students came in Blue dresses that day. The teachers decorated the entrance using various pictures of blue colored things such as whale, water, sky, water drops, fish, butterflies etc. During assembly students recited a number of poems on the colour ‘Blue’. Some activities such as cotton printing, spray painting, ear bud printing were performed by our students. The aim was to educate the students about Blue colour & its importance in nature.

Seminar on Child abuse

Child abuse in all its forms results in potential harm to the child’s health & survival. So, the need of the hour is to know about it & prevent it with all the might. Keeping this in mind SVM along with Rotary Club Femina organized a child Abuse Prevention session on 7th Aug for the students of VI to VIII. The district child protection officer Mr. Bhavin Makwana, with his presentation, explained about the difference between good & bad touch. Students were told how to deal with such situations & to use child helpline at the time of need. Awareness pamphlets were distributed to the students.

Talent Hunt Competition

Situated in the heart of the city, SVM provides an invigorating environment to host the Talent Hunt Competition on 11th August organized by Rotary Club Femina. Its high-end infrastructure provided 700 participants from 20 schools a rich experience in their endeavor to win various competitions. The event was inaugurated by Bharuch Nagar Palika President Surbhiben Tambakuwala, Reliance Ltd Head Shri N. X. Valecha, Dr. Maya Valecha, District membership chairman Mr. Amardeep Bunet & Kamljit Bunet. The students showcased their talents in various fields like T-shirt Painting, Drawing, Poster Making, Public Speaking, Fancy dress & Skit. For Public speaking the topics were democracy, Swacch Bharat and freedom of press. Students mesmerized the audience with their beautiful & innovative dresses for fancy dress competition which aimed to blend learning with fun. ‘The Act said it all’ is all to sum up the performances of skit competition. SVM will keep itself and its bouncy spirit alive to nurture young talents in future also.

Rakhi making

On 14th August our school celebrated Rakhi making competition from class 1 to 8. All students participated in this competition and made beautiful rakhis from different type of material like pista shells, almonds, ear buds and many other things. Winners were selected from each and every class.

Fancy Dress Competition was held on 14th August in the Pre-primary section in memory of our beloved national heroes to recognize their contribution to the nation. Students came dressed up as our nation’s heroes & mimicked their famous slogans also.

Moral story telling

A moral story telling competition was scheduled for the students of Std I to X on the initiative of Mission Etical India Society and the District education officer on 14th August. It gave a learning experience to children as for searching the best story for the competition they went through a lot many stories on net and books and came out selecting the best one. There were two categories ; one for std 1 to 5 and second for std 6 to 10. Competition was adjudged by our director Mr. Devang Thakore and Mrs. Shilpi Gupta. The names of winners were sent to the DEO and certificates were given to the winners.

JANMASHTAMI

The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great fervor in the campus of SVM School on 22nd August. Students were told about the life & teachings of Lord Krishna. The traditional ‘Matki Phod’ filled the students with vigor & enthusiasm. It was followed by exceptional dance performances by the young talents. Following our convention, this year also a brain storming quiz was arranged for the students whereby their knowledge & understanding of the life & teachings of Krishna was tested by our English teacher Mrs. Shilpi Gupta. The entire campus was buzzing with joie de vivre as students had clad themselves as Radha & Krishna.

VIBGYOR DAY

Our school celebrated VIBGYOR day with Pre- Primary kids on 6th September. Students of all the seven classes of the Pre-primary section came to school wearing dress of a particular colour from the VIBGYOR. Different activities were performed by the students. Nursery students filled colour in the picture of a rainbow. Cotton printing & thumb printing were some of the activities done by Jr Kg & Sr Kg students. The celebration of this day helped the students to know about different colors of the rainbow. Our aim was to teach them how to identify diverse colors.

Hand wash Day

Hand wash day was celebrated on 8th September to tell the students the importance of hygiene and sanitation. Students were told how to wash hands, especially before taking meals and after using washroom, correctly and appropriately taking enough time.

Interact Club

The prestigious Rotary club of Bharuch sponsored the formation of Interact club in SVM school for the age group 12 to 18. The club is formed with the aim of developing leadership qualities, social service outlook and making good citizens for the future. The investiture ceremony took place on 12th September in the esteemed presence of Mrs. and Mr. Anish Shah who encouraged the members to work selflessly to make a better community and a good nation. 32 students from Std 6 to 11 have registered themselves for the club and have committed to undertake myriad activities for communal service. A quiz competition was organized for the members to aware them with the ongoing Swacch Bharat mission on 1st October. Mrs. Shilpi Gupta judged the event and declared the names of the winner team. An elocution competition was organized on 3rd October for the members on Swacch Bharat and the importance of cleanliness, which was judged by Mr. Ashok Barot, who run his own tutorials and Mr. Rahul Mehta, professor in English in commerce college. The revered judges motivated the students by their words and announced the names of winners. The installation ceremony took place on 23rd October when office bearers took oath and pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of lamp followed by a short prayer and welcome of guests. Mr. Amarjeet Singh Bunet was the installation officer. President of Interact club Zuneira Zamindar motivated the students with her speech. Mr. Ankit Shah, Past IDR shared his experiences with the students. Parents of the members of Interact club were among the audience. The event was followed by a lavish dinner.

Hindi Diwas

With the aim of promoting Hindi language, Hindi Diwas was celebrated on 14th September in the school. A moral story telling competition was organised for the students of Std. 1st to 3rd and Hindi hand writing competition for the students of Std 4th to 8th. These types of competitions help students to explore their Hindi language knowledge and play a key role in uniting the diverse India.

HINDI RECITATION COMPETITION

To make the students learn the rhythm of language a Hindi recitation competition was held on 25th September for Pre-Primary students. Students prepared Hindi poems & recited them on the stage. Judges evaluated the performances & winners were selected accordingly.

Pot Painting Competition

On 3rd October a Pot painting competition was organized by Sarayu Eco Club of the school. The competition was open for the students of Std 4th to 8th. 14 groups were formed and students painted the pots brilliantly with vibrant colours.

Navratri celebration

Navratri is the time to rejuvenate oneself. It brings freedom from all kinds of botherations and connects us with our spirit. Navratri was celebrated with much fanfare in the campus of SVM on 4th October for Pre-primary section and on5th October for other sections. Students came clad in stunning traditional dresses and performed garba energetically and vigorously. The whole campus was full of vivacious sounds and vibrant hues and was a sight to behold.

DIYA DECORATION COMPETITION

Enlightening ‘diya’ burns the evil nature of humans and pushes them to the brightness of wisdom. A Diya decoration competition was held on 22nd October for Pre Primary students. Students brought diyas and decorative material and decorated the diyas. Students who decorated the diyas in the best manner were selected as winners. The competition was envisioned to create awareness among students to promote Green Diwali and not to burn polluting crackers.

Making Eco Wall

Students of Sarayu Eco club undertook the activity of making Eco walls to aware the students about climate change, the need to preserve it and the significance of hygiene. They selected two walls and with the help of their teachers transformed the walls convincingly into beautiful paintings giving their messages persuasively, using slogans.

Paper bag making

Beautiful and attractive paper bags were made by the members of Eco club to give people an alternative to plastic bag.

No plastic Day

To alert and aware the citizens about the harmful effects of plastic a No Plastic initiative is undertaken by the members of Eco club. Slowly and gradually SVM will head towards being a plastic free campus.

Diwali celebration

Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great ardor in the school. I diya decoration competition was organized for the students of Std. 1 to 12 when they decorated diyas of various shapes beautifully with stones and colours. A rangoli making competition was organized where students made rangolis in innovative ways and with much meticulousness, precision and clarity. The competition was judged and the names of the winners were declared.
