Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami marks the arrival of spring and is dedicated to goddess Saraswati, the goddess of arts, learning and knowledge. The festival was celebrated with joy and positivity in the campus of the school. The idol of goddess Saraswati was adorned with hues of yellow symbolizing the blossoming of the mustard flowers and the onset of the spring. The festivities commenced with a ‘Saraswati Vandana’ where students paid their tribute to the goddess by reciting Saraswati mantras. It was followed by a few speeches by the students revealing the purpose and ways of celebrating the festival. Some students recited some mantras and expounded their meaning. The occasion was celebrated joyfully with songs and dances, all dedicated to Ma Saraswati.

Grand parents day

SVM School celebrated Grand parents day with warmth and enthusiasm, honouring the invaluable contribution Grand parents play in our lives. After the registration process, a cultural program was presented to amuse them. The program included prayer dance, songs, fusion dance and skits portraying family bonds and fostering emotional connections. Grand parents thoroughly enjoyed the progam. They were made to play games specially planned for them. They played ‘Passing the parcel’ and ‘Musical chair’ with high spirits & exhilaration and relived the bygone time. Games were followed with Merit and Sports certificate distribution by Grand parents. More than 200 certificates were distributed by them to the winners of various competitions, GKIQ participants, Olympiad exams’ winners and sports competition winners. The progam concluded with light refreshment. The grandparents responded overwhelmingly to this progam especially designed for them and carried home excellent memories to cherish. Grand parents’ day for the grandparents of Pre primary section to Std 3 was celebrated on 23rd February 2024. A cultural program was presented to amuse them which was followed by playing of games like balancing a ball and a one minute fun game for the grandparents. Winners were gifted prizes. The certificates for the year round competitions to the winners were given by the grandparents. They were offered light refreshment.

Handwriting competition

The Pre primary section of the school hosted a Handwriting competition for the kiduzz to bring out their prowess in writing in the age dominated by digital world. The competition was divided into categories for different classes right from cursive alphabets to strikingly scripted lines. Students participated enthusiastically to present the art of writing and showcased their ability to write immaculately and beautifully.

Picnic

The students of SVM Higher Secondary School had an incredible day as they embarked on a memorable picnic to Caravan Serai in Jambughoda on 5th January 2024. Renowned as one of the finest adventure resorts near Vadodara, Caravan Serai offered an extensive array of thrilling activities that catered t every adventurous spirit among the students. Caravan Serai offered conquering challenges like the Commando Net, Burma Bamboo Bridge, Gorilla Caves, Rope Bridge, Commando Crawl, Snake & ladders, Dune Buggy rides and even engaged students in activities like dancing. 75th Republic Day was celebrated in the ground of JP Arts & Science college with patriotic fervor. Not only did they immerse themselves in these exciting activities but also relished delicious food adding to the joyous memories created during this day. It was a day filled with laughter, excitement and learning experiences that will undoubtedly stay etched in the minds of our students for a long time.

Annual Parents’ Day (Std Pre Primary to 3)

The Annual Parents’ Day of Std Pre Primary to Std 3 was celebrated blissfully on 29th January 2024 at Swami Atulanandji auditorium in JP Arts & Science college.The theme f this year’s function was Edutainment-Fiesta with learning. The annual function was a splendid event filled with vibrant performances, showcasing the diverse talents of our students. The evening commenced with a prayer dance followed by cultural programs that included dance, music and drama performances. The kiduzz of Pre Primary grooved to the tunes of musical rhymes, golmaal song, retro to metro and presented skit ‘chal mere kaddu’ and ‘Junk food’ in a mesmerizing way. Students of Std 1 to 3 danced on ‘Gulabi sharara’ , ‘de de ball humara’ and on other melodic songs. The students' enthusiasm and dedication was evident in every act, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained. The kiduzz also announced the upcoming performances through a skit ‘Tarak Mehta ka oolta chashma’. The way they acted and heralded the performances was a moment to behold.The drama presented under the aegis of Sarayu Eco club was very well enjoyed by the audience. Awards were presented to acknowledge the achievements and outstanding contributions of students in extracurricular activities. Gold medals were given to students who won in English Olympiads. The event fostered a sense of unity and pride within the school community, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

Oath taking

On the initiative of the Government of Gujarat, an oath was taken by the staff & students of the school to take care of the birds while flying kites during Uttarayan. Many birds are hurt by the thread used to fly kites. An oath was taken to take care of the birds while flying kites. It was also pledged that before 9:00 A.M and after 7:00 P.M no kites will be flown and also the birds will be taken for first aid, if they are under any case, hurt. They shouldn’t be given any food or water if they are injured. Everyone present showed compassion, concern and empathy and vouchsafed to protect our feathered friends in the best possible manner under their control.

Kite flying

Kite flying is a major part of the festivities that take place during Uttarayan. The festival was marked with various activities on 13th January 2024 in SVM campus. Students of Std 1st And 2nd decorated diverse shaped kites with decorative material , some of them even decorated them in varied themes. Students of Std 3rd to 8th prepared beautiful kites with coloured paper and sticks. The school campus was beautifully bedecked with colourful kites.

National Youth Day

The birthday of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated annually on 12th January as National Youth Day. The day aims to honour the contributions of the youth and promote their role in nation building. This day is a reminder of Vivekananda’s vision, inspiring young minds to channel their energy towards constructive and positive endeavours. SVM school celebrated the occasion merrily and organized some events for her students to encourage them to explore their talent, foster leadership skills and to engage them in community service. A ‘Nukkad natak’ on ‘Pariksha pe charcha’ was presented by the students of Std 11 where the requisite to listen the tips given by the Prime Minister of India was presented. Another activity undertaken by the school was a session of ‘Yoga & meditation’ where students presented various ‘yoga asanas’ for the overall wellbeing of individuals.

Annual Parents’ Day (Std 4 to 12)

SVM School celebrated the Annual Parents’ Day of Std 4 to Std 12 on 30th January 2024. The theme of the event was ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, We are the world; Let peace prevail. The event initiated with the welcome of the Guest of Honour, the District Education Officer, Bharuch, Smt. Swatiba Raul, The Chairman of Sa’d Vidya Mandal Shri Shashikant Patel and Secretary Jivral Patel. After the lighting of lamp and prayer dance, meticulously choreographed dances, soul-stirring musical performances, well acted skits to sports dance, each act unfolded a story of dedication and passion. The colours of Indian festivals were shown through a mesmerizing dance. Many international dance forms were gracefully presented by the students. The performers of Adi Yoga captivated the attention of the audience through their enthralling performance. A tint of comedy was added to the occasion by a saga of quirky characters through the drama “Khichdi’. The Sarayu Eco club and The Interact club of SVMs Budding achiever’ presented learning lessons through a drama ‘Save birds’. The DEO, Bharuch Mrs. Raul gave her address advising parents not to bring their wards under pressure of any kind as each child is unique in his/her own ways. The achievers of various fields were awarded. Trophies and framed certificates were given away to winners of GNFC Maths convention, Sports events, Veergatha 3.0, Vivekananda quiz, Navy quiz, GKIQ and Olympiads. The event was very well received by the audience and there were claps of appreciation echoing from each corner of the auditorium praising the hard work and dedication of those who worked on the screen or behind to make it possible. The event took place at Swami Atulanandji auditorium in JP Arts & Science college which is an ideal location for the event as it is centrally located in the city and offers a good parking place to the audience.

Air show

An Air Show was arranged by District Administration, Bharuch in association with Bharuch District Management Association and Bharuch Citizens Council.The students got an opportunity to witness the marvels of aviation. A team of 9 fighter planes and pilots presented gravity- defying stunts and showed the capabilities of state-of-the-art aircrafts.The students of SVM school got an opportunity to be among 30,000 spectators to watch the show. It was a thrilling show where aerobatic display and a variety of other manoeuvres were shown including splits, crosses, formation of heart & arrow among many others.The students enjoyed the show to the fullest and witnessed the cutting edge technology with high speed manoeuvres and precision flying.

Surya Namaskar

The Government of Gujarat organized a ‘Youth Voter’s Festival-2023’ with the aim of creating awareness among the youth for registering themselves as voters and to cast their vote dutifully. For the purpose various competitions were organized in different categories. From our school three selected entries were forwarded in the category ‘E-poster making’. Hitansh Agnejiya and Hitarth Agnejiya from Std 10 and Ankur Yadav of Std 11 prepared striking E posters to aware people on the importance of vote.

Surya Namaskar

Gujarat state engraved its name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people performing Surya Namaskar simultaneously. The students of SVM school became a part of this esteemed event when they performed Surya Namaskar in the lawn of JP Arts & Science college with various other students from other schools. The event was attended by the collector of Bharuch district Shri Tushar Sumera, the M.L.A of Vagra Shri Arun Sinh Rana and by many other dignitaries and citizens. 11 rounds of Surya Namaskar were performed across 108 locations concurrently by lakhs of people, the key event being taking place at Modhera Sun Temple in the presence of honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel.

Picnic

Students had a day full of knowledge and fun when they had a delightful picnic at Science city, Ahmedabad on 28th December 2023. More than 130 students joined the picnic. As the three buses rolled along, the journey became a prelude to the scientific exploration that awaited them.The students tried to understand the imaginative models, virtual reality activities and various live demonstrations. The main attraction was Robotics gallery where they were acquainted with domestic robots, industrial robots and agricultural robots. They came to know how robots are replacing humans in various arenas of life.Aquatic gallery was another attraction for students when they witnessed 350 different types of fishes including cat fish, snake fish, star fish etc. Nature Park, 4D show and science exhibits unraveled the world of science to the students. Seminar on ‘Millets for nutritional sustainability’

Shri Jayendrapuri Arts & Science college organized a seminar on ‘Millets for nutritional sustainability’on 22nd December 2023. Students of Std IX & X attended the seminar and learnt a lot about millets.The chief speaker Dr. Kanak Lata, Principal Scientist, Head ICMR-KVK, Panchmahal, explained interestingly and in detail the benefits of consuming millets in our daily diet. Bajra(Pearl millet), Jwar(Sorghum), Ragi(finger millet) ,Sama are high in nutritional quotient, salinity tolerant, can grow in drought prone areas with poor soil and even in temperature up to 50 degrees. They are gluten free and have less glycaemic index. Consumption of millets can lower the risk of diabetes & obesity, improve cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. They provide various macro & micro nutrients to the body. They have antioxidants, are anti inflammatory, antiviral and are beneficial in reducing the chances of heart attack. Dr. Kanak Lata very emphatically asked the students to lower the intake of pizza, pasta and burgers and told them the harms these food items create in the body.

Sports day

The annual sports day at SVM School was a thrilling display of athleticism and sportsmanship. Sports play a crucial role in fostering physical health, promoting teamwork and instilling discipline. They contribute to character development, stress relief and overall well-being. SVM school organized her Sports week between 11th December to 19th December for various standards and sections. The sports day at school featured a diverse range of events including track & field, team sports and individual challenges. The highlight of the event was track events where athletes showcased their speed, agility & endurance. On 11 th December, Pre Primary section had their Sports day. The Kiduzz of Pre Primary displayed their athletic prowess by participating enthusiatically in obstacle race, ring jump race, flat race and ‘Collect the fruits’ race.Primary section students put on show their collective joy and friendly competition while participating in hurdle race, balance race, frog jump race, skipping race, duck walk, camel walk race, kangaroo jump race and rolling race. Students of Secondary & Higher Secondary section participated in 100 m race, hurdle race and relay race. Sports day saw a broad participation of students across various age groups and skill levels.

Kala mahakumbh

Kala mahakumbh is an initiative by Government of Gujarat to promote the young talent of the state in various fields including Bharatnayam, song, dance, garba, ‘bhajan’ and many more. From our school Anesha Das and Khushbu Das displayed a mesmerizing performance of ‘Bharatnatyam’ with grace and precision, showcasing their love for this high form of classical dance. The performances took place in ‘Mishr Shala’, where they competed with many other students from different schools. A group of students of Std 4 to 8 participated in the ‘Group song’ category and sung a ‘Shaurya Geet’ soulfully.

India Spelling Bee

Our school hosted the India Spelling Bee competition for the first time to improve the spellings and linguistic abilities of our students. We are happy to share that over 50 students participated in this competition which not only provided them book for practice but also sent them mock tests for making them acquaint with the exam pattern.

General Health Check-up Camp

“Health is wealth”. To raise awareness for health and well being and keeping a healthy lifestyle, a health camp was held in SVM Higher Secondary School, Bharuch for all the students as a part of a program of the Government of Gujarat. All the students from Nursery to Std 12 had their fundamental health information including height, weight, and body mass examined by the qualified doctors. The aim of regular health checkups is to assess the normal development of the child, to keep a track of the immunization schedule and to assess any abnormalities

Diwali

The campus of SVM school buzzed with creativity and ardor while celebrating the festival of lights. Students of all the standards eagerly participated in a plethora of competitions planned for them. The flickering flames of artistic expression lit up the ‘Diya making’ competition where students of Pre Primary and Std I to III crafted intricate designs on ‘diyas’ infusing traditional designs with a modern twist. The colourful and culturally rich ‘Torans’ created a mesmerizing look when the beautiful ‘torans’ made by the students of IV & V adorned the walls and corridors of the school. The courtyard of the school transformed into a canvas of expression when the students of VI to XII made rainbow coloured ‘rangolis’ with precision and symmetry. A special competition was organised for teachers where the usually reserved staff room became a hub of creativity with educators turning into artisans, showcasing their artistic flair beyond the realms of textbooks. The competition witnessed an array of ‘diya’ designs that reflected the artistic prowess of the teachers. Christmas was a flurry of creativity and joy as students of Std 1 to 8 dived into the festive spirit, crafting a colourful array of Christmas themed delights. From meticulously designed X-mas cards adorned with glittering snowflakes to jolly Santas with fluffy cotton-ball beards, our classrooms buzzed with artistic fervor. Each student poured his/her imagination into crafting miniature X-mas trees bedecked with twinkling ornaments and tiny presents. The halls echoed with laughter and cheer as the students proudly displayed their handcrafted masterpieces sharing the warmth and magic of the season with everyone around. It was a day when creativity thrived and the spirit of Christmas shone brightly in every corner of our school.

Navratri – a time of joy, devotion, celebration and togetherness. Navratri was celebrated at SVM school with vibrant energy, enthusiastic dancing, and a beautiful display of rich tradition of India. Our students, dressed in stunning traditional attire, swayed to the rhythm of Gujarati music, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The celebration not only marked cultural richness but also captured the essence of Navratri.

Session on ‘Unlocking health & confidence, adolescent healthcare’

A unique talk show was organized in SVM school for adolescents titled ‘Unlocking health & confidence, adolescent healthcare’. Adolescent is an age that comes with challenges and curiosity. The seminar aimed to address the problems & anxieties of adolescents. The seminar was organized separately for boys and girls so that they can freely discuss the questions arising in their minds. Dr. Vikram Premkumar, a specialist in new born baby care & adolescent counseling, addressed the changes occurring in the bodies of boys during puberty which are challenging to navigate and he guided them thoroughly. Dr. Palak Kapadia, a specialist in Preconception Counseling and an adolescent counselor, explained in detail the problems faced by girls during puberty and assured them that the changes are normal. Dr.Nitisha Shah, an expert in Garbhsanskar & stress management, encouraged the girls to come out openly with their problems before their parents and teachers. Dr. Khushbu Modh, an expert in Child Parenting and Baby Led Weaning, also attended the session. The seminar was informative and kept the students engaged throughout.

Hindi Diwas Celebration

Hindi Diwas, celebrated on 14th September each year, holds immense importance in India as it commemorates the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of the country. The school joyfully marked the occasion by organizing the entire morning assembly in Hindi, right from prayer & thought to amazing facts and news. A spirited cultural programme followed the assembly kickstarting with ‘Kavi Parichay’ of a few great Hindi writers and poets. A dance ‘Jan jan ki bhasha hai Hindi’ was performed by the girls gracefully. ‘Nukkad Natak’ on ‘Hindi ki Atma Vedna’ was soulfully performed by the students showcasing the crisis Hindi faces these days. A skit and the rendition of the poem ‘Utho dhara ke log’ added to the glory of the event.

Janmashtami

SVM Higher Secondary School celebrated the festival of Janmashtami with the KIDUZZ of the Pre-Primary Section on September 6, 2023. Boys and girls were dressed as Radha and Krishna. Different craft activities, such as coloring and decorating a picture of a ‘matki’ were done by the students of the Nursery and Jr KG classes. The students of Sr KG made flutes with paper and decorated them with colorful stones and other decorative materials. The highlight of the celebration was the enactment of Lord Krishna's life. Students dressed as young Krishna, complete with peacock feathers and a flute, mesmerized the audience with their performances showcasing the various episodes associated with his life. This was followed by the enactment of famous Kaliya Daman episode. Students also narrated the various life stories associated with Krishna and presented a mesmerizing dance. The traditional "Dahi Handi" ritual added a thrilling touch to the festivities. A human pyramid was formed as students attempted to break the ‘handi’ suspended high above, symbolizing Lord Krishna's mischievous love for butter. The cheers and applause of onlookers added to the adrenaline rush of the participants.

Swachhata Pakhwada

The Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, organizes Swachhata Pakhwada every year to encourage and inspire students to continue with the good practices of hygiene and sanitation in school as well as home. SVM School took up the initiative like a mission and did her best to instill a sense of cleanliness among students. A plethora of activities were planned and executed. The program that spanned for two weeks started with a ‘Swachhata Pledge’taken by students along with the director and the staff. On 2nd September a Powerpoint Presentation session was organised for the students of Std IX to XII where they were shown the ways to harvest rain water. An essay writing competition was organised for the students of Std VI. The topic was ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’on 6th September. For the students of Std VII a Slogan writing competition was planned on the topic ‘Be clean and healthy’. Students of Std VIII expressed their commitment for cleaner India through colourful artwork in the form of paintings on ‘Swachh Bharat’. For the tiny tots of Std I & II a hand washing day was planned where they were shown videos highlighting the importance of hand washing. 11th September was celebrated as “Personal Hygiene Day’ and students of Std III, IV & V were told about ‘Health & Wellness. The cleanliness drive was a declaration of our commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment. The message was clear-‘The magic of change is within our grasp’.

Students of SVM school played the roles of teachers and taught in various classes. They understood the challenges teachers face while teaching and maintaining a class. At the same time it was a sweet break for teachers from their routine activities.

Sanskrit Diwas Celebration

At our school, we celebrated Sanskrit Diwas with great enthusiasm, showcasing the significance of this ancient language. The students of Std VI to IX practiced for the celebration for days altogether and presented a passionate programme on the day. The event started with a welcome dance and followed by a Sanskrit dance ‘Man Shuddhi’. The event encompassed in it a skit on Maharashi Valmiki, a mesmerizing rendition of the "Shiv Tandav” , life history of great Sanskrit writer Kalidas & summary of one of his famous works “Abhigyan Shakuntalam’ , a bio sketch of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in Sanskrit, recitation of shlokas and some fun activities. ‘Sanskrit Kavya Pathan’ was done by students to make them understand this historical and the most scientific language in the world. In the end a quiz was attempted ny the students.

• Krish Mumbaiwala stood I in Badminton playoffs and made it to the State level.
• Hitakshi Parmar at number 4th position
• Shlok Parmar at number 5 position also made it to the State Level Badminton Championship.
• Arth Rana stood I in under 14 category-boys of 400 m race
• Krisha Vasava stood I in under 14 category-girls 400 m race.
• Irshad Patel bagged I position in 800 m race and Akul Patel stood I in Discus throw.
• Pahi Gupta stood II in artistic yoga and waved the flag of SVM school high in the sky by her mesmerizing performance.

A seminar on NEP 2020 was organized for the students of Std IX to XII to acquaint them with the main policy decisions taken under this policy. Shri Nishant Dave, District Education Inspector, Bharuch, was the key note speaker. He told in detail the changes this policy is going to bring for the holistic development of a child. He satisfied the various queries of students.

Faculty Development Programme

Two days Teacher’s Training Programme was organised in SVM Higher Secondary School, Bharuch. It was conducted by Mr. Paresh Bhatt, a well known member of International Association of Educator & Corporate Trainer & an Accredited Teacher’s Trainer by “ Bestow Edutex International”. The training equipped teachers with techniques and modern pedagogy strategies that help them to better connect with, manage and teach their students in a manner which ensures that all students are learning and benefitting. The main intention was to develop a skill to stimulate experience in the teaching, under an artificially created environment, less with material resources and more with creative activities. All the teachers actively participated in the training programme in all the strategies that include, question-and-answer sessions, discussion, interactive lecture, quick writing assignments, hand-on activities and experiential learning.

GNFC Maths Convention

Narmadanagar Community Science Centre organized the 1 st Maths Convention with the motto “Everything around you is mathematics, Everything around you is numbers’. Students of SVM school participated in various competitions with zeal & enthusiasm. Malek Shehzad, studying in Std 2 secured 2 nd position in - Strike the chords-Poem/Song recitation competition. Visha Nai bagged 1 st position in Elocution competition on the topic My favourite mathematician.

International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school with exuberance and excitement. This year’s theme is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ that is ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. Students performed various ‘Asanas’ under the guidance of their P.E teacher. They were taught breathing exercises and synchronization of various parts of the body in perfect harmony. The director of the school Shri Devang Thakore & the staff also joined the celebration.
