Bird feeder making

The Interact club of budding achievers arranged a bird feeder making activity taking in sight the approaching hot weather in the city. 25 members of the club sat together and made bird feaders to be placed at various places across the campus and outside.

Science in festivals

A very interesting & informative programme was presented by the students of Std IX on ‘Science in festivals’. The students elaborated on the ‘Science’ behind the various food preferences at the time of festivals. During Holi chana, puffed jowar, khajoor are eaten and all these are seasonal foods and are harvested at this particular time. The natural colours used during Holi removes bacterial & fungal infection of the body and cleans it. The laddoos made up of sesame and groundnut eaten during Makar Sankranti improves immunity & the production of digestive enzymes. More such information was given to students which they imbibed attentively. The director of the school told the students about myths associated with different festivals and their scientific explanations.

The colourful festival of Holi was celebrated in the premises of the school with harmony & delight. Gulal, pichkari & balloons were distributed to the students of Pre Primary section.

Send off ceremony

A send off ceremony was organized for the outgoing students of Std X & XII by the school. A cultural programme was industriously prepared by their juniors. Various games were also planned which were thoroughly enjoyed by the students. Students of Std X & XII shared their nostalgic memories with others which made the atmosphere a bit emotional. The director of the school shared his views with them and inspired them to look ahead focused and gave them some success mantras. The director and the teachers gave away Merit & Sports certificates to the students. The programme was followed with light refreshment.

Mother Tongue Pride Day

Mother Tongue Pride Day was celebrated in the school to promote awareness for one’s mother tongue. Students of Std VI to IX participated in the event organized for them. Students presented a prayer in Gujarati which was followed by the information about famous Gujarati writers and persons. Students had done a lot of research to gather & present information about eminent personnel. The director of the school Shri Devang Thakore told them the importance of mastery over one’s mother language.

State level Science Exhibition

Param Patel and Vinit Parekh of Std XI represented the school in State level Science Exhibition at Dhrangdhara between 19th Feb to 22nd February 2023. 100 models were exhibited including 50 models from Primary and 50 from Secondary & Higher Secondary section. The exhibition took place at Swaminarayan Gurukul Vidhyalay. Toppers from all the districts of the state participated in it.

Aatapi Wonderland, Ajwa, Vadodara

A one day picnic was planned for the students of Std VI to IX & XI on 13th February, 2023. Aatapi Wonderland is the Gujatat’s largest theme park involving rides, dance shows, magic show & lazer show. It is a perfect place to create memorable moments and to click photographs. 104 students accompanied by 10 teachers went to the picnic in two buses. One hour after departure from the school, all were served breakfast at a hotel. All the picnickers enjoyed idlis, samosas & wafers. Singing & dancing in the bus, all reached Aatapi and were greated by the dancing mascots at the entrance of the venue. After the formalities, all entered with sky high enthusiasm & anticipation. The first ride was ‘Tagada’ followed by ‘Alibaba rotating’, ‘Fender Bender’, ‘Sky drop’ and more. The students enjoyed all the rides without a trace of fear & fright. A dancing show was there where performers performed many stunts including balancing and juggling. A magic show and a funny show involving jokers filled the audience with laughter & fun. The final attraction was the water-lazer show which enthralled the audience to the fullest. In between students enjoyed a full meal and samosas & fruti in Hi tea. All came back with happy memories for a life time.

Hotel Greenery & Doodh dhara dairy

The tiny toddlers of Pre primary section went to enjoy their day out at Hotel Greenery. Around 100 students accompanied by helpers & teachers went by a bus to Hotel Greenery. There they enjoyed themselves on slides and many other rides. They relished bournvita milk, pizza, noodles & wafers. From there they went to Doodh dhara dairy and saw the processing & packaging of flavoured milk. The students enjoyed their day thoroughly

Picnic

Picnics give students a chance to explore outdoors & enhance their social skills. Picnics are sheer fun for students and a good way to introduce them to public places. The students of Std I to V were taken to a picnic to Fun-Funta-Fun, Hazira, Surat on 8th February. Around 150 students went to the picnic and entered the world of fun with immense joy. There were numerous rides for different age groups including flying chair, ferry wheel, beach buggy, pendulum, safari train, top spin among many others. The students were given lip-smacking snacks, lunch and Hi-tea which they enjoyed to their heart’s content. It was a delight to see our students so happy and elated.

Republic Day

The country celebrated its 74th Republic Day with great national fervor. The tricolor was hoisted in the ground of JP Arts & Science college by the Chairman of SVM Shri Shashikant Patel. Students of SVM school presented a prayer dance on the occasion. Another grand performance with dumbbells, lezims & tricolor cloth was presented by the students which enthralled the audience and infused a feeling of patriotism & pride for the nation in them.

MacMillan Seminar

A seminar was arranged for Preprimary and Primary teachers of the school. The instructors from MacMillan publication came from Ahmedabad to acquaint the teachers with all the modern pedagogies and methodologies of teaching. The instructors told the trainees about e books and the world of knowledge they offer. These e books have animations for better understanding of the chapter. They have question answers and other associated material for each chapter

Press conference

A press conference was arranged in SVM school to showcase the achievements of students in various fields. Print media and electronic media was invited in the school and they were told about the award going to be received by Batul Sanchawala for Veergatha 2.0. They were also told about the achievement of Zonal level winners of Science Exhibition Param Patel & Vinit Parekh. The winner of INSPIRE _MANAK award Mauli Valand told about her achievement. Government of Gujarat initiated G3Q Quiz winner Arzoo Patel put in the picture her achievement. Fizuka Parmar got selected for the second round of GKIQ test. SVM school feels immensely happy & elated at the performance of her students and wish them best of luck for their future feats.

Kite Festival

The Pre primary section of the school celebrated Kite Festival, Uttarayan, with great energy & fun. The entire landscape of the school was decorated with hand made kites of different shapes, sizes and colours. Beautiful kites, threads and colourful whistles were gifted to all the students who were simply overjoyed and thrilled.

Bird rescue and rehabilitation session

A bird rescue and rehabilitation session, under the aegis of Sarayu Eco Club, was organized in SVM school before Uttarayan on 12th January 2023. A group of people from Bird Rescue and Rehab Foundation, told the students about the havoc the thread creates in the free flying of the birds. Birds are brutally injured and entangled by the sharp thread used for kite flying. The team told the students how to rescue a bird without further hurting it. They showed slides and videos to the students showing the injuries and the treatment needed. The team gave phone numbers to the students in case they need help of any team member to save a bird. They asked students not to fly kites between 6 AM to 7 AM in the morning and in the evening during same time. It was a very practical and useful session.

Zone Level Science Fair

The model made by Param Patel and Vinit Parekh got selected in Zonal level science exhibition in Navsari and now the students will be taking part in State Level Science Exhibition. The competition was a tough one as they were competing with the winners of different districts.

District Science Exhibition

SVM school got the honour, jointly by the GCERT-Gandhinagar, District Education Office, Bharuch and District Institute of Education & Training (D.I.E.T) Bharuch, to host the year 2022-’23 District level Science-Maths- Environment Exhibition. The model made by our two students of Std XI, namely Param Patel & Vinit Parekh got selected for this competition. On 29th December, the opening ceremony took place and the event was inaugurated by the MP of Bharuch Shri Mansukh bhai Vasava. The ceremony was graced by the M.L.A of Bharuch Shri Ramesh bhai Mistry, Chairman of Shri S’ad Vidya Mandal Shri Shashikant Patel, Secretary Shri Jivraj Patel, District Education Inspector Shri Divyesh Parmar & Shri Nishant Dave, D.I.E.T Principal Smt. Kalpana Unadkat and professor of D.I.E.T Shri P.B Patel. Director of SVM school Shri Devang Thakore welcomed the chief guests by his address. SVM school hosted 45 models from different schools from Bharuch district. On 30th December around 1000 students from various school visited our school along with many parents and other visitors. On 31st December the closing ceremony took place which was graced by Shri Amitsinh Vasandia, Chairman, Bharuch District Acharya Sangh, Secretary , Shri S’ad Vidya Mandal Shri Jivraj Patel, Shri H.K Patel Professor, Narmada Science College & Shri Usman Patel, Teacher, Karmad High School. All the participants were given certificates and a gift by SVM school. The event was a huge success and all the guests appreciated the superb arrangement done by the school. The model made by our students got selected for the zone level competition scheduled from 9th to 11th January 2023 in Navsari. The Electric Dynamic Car made by them drew the attention of all the beholders as it provides solution to energy crisis and promotes sustainable development. The competition began with class level competition where 413 models were on display and finally 5 models are selected, ours one of them. The students will now take part in Zonal level competition in Navsari.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas was celebrated with fun and gaiety by Pre primary students in the school. The school was decorated with Christmas trees, bells, stockings, wreath and colourful buntings. A beautiful Christmas crib was made & displayed in the school foyer. The teacher clad as Santa Claus distributed chocolates and muffins to the students.

Session by ‘Memory man'

Mr. Sajan Shah is considered ‘Memory man’ of India and youngest motivational speaker. He is a National Awardee and the founder of United First. SVM got an opportunity to have a live session of Mr. Shah in the school on the topic ‘Focus, dedication & smart studies’. In his session he told students various techniques to boost up their confidence, faster reading, importance of consistency and concentration building. He has also started a Plantable pencil movement whereby he distributes plantable pencils to students which they can plant at home and contribute in making the country green. He asked students to sit for at least 35 minutes at a place for better memorizing of answers. He motivated them to leave the things they love the most including mobile to concentrate on studies. He distributed plantable pencils to all the students.

GNFC Science fair

Narmadanagar Community Science Centre has been organizing Science fair for the last 28 years. This year also a science fair was organized by them. Students from our school participated in Science Project activity and in many other workshops including workshops on Aeromodelling, Astronomy, Tod Phod Jod and Poster making. It was a learning experience for the students.

Taluka level Science Fair 2022

SVM school hosted the Taluka level Science Fair of the Primary Section on 15th December 2022. The fair was conceptualized by GCERT and organized by District Institute of Education & Training , BRC Bharuch & our school. Over 70 models from many schools, who won the CRC (cluster level), were on display including the winning model from our school. The topic of the fair was ‘Science for everyday life’. Aishaben Patel, DPEO, Preetiben Sanghvi, officer from DIET, Virendrasinh Solanki, BRC Coordinator were among many other guests who graced the occasion. The fair had sub themes including Advancement in information & communication technology, Health & cleanliness, Transport & innovation, Historical development with current innovation & Mathematics for us. The program was inaugurated with lighting of lamp and a prayer. The guests were welcomed and the purpose of the day was delivered by the director of the school. The models were displayed in various classrooms including the garden area for solar based projects and a dark room for light related project. A large number of footfalls was seen in the school and the parents & the guests appreciated the meticulous planning and various preparations done by the school for smooth running of the fair.

Sports day

Annual Sports Day was celebrated for various sections of the school in the month of December. Children played & competed for 100 m race, hurdle race, , kho-kho & cricket. There were different rounds arranged for each sport and separate teams of girls & boys competed for the winning positions.

‘The importance of Hindi language’ celebration

To celebrate the importance and relevance of Hindi language in our lives a day was dedicated to its celebration. A plethora of events were planned and organized for the purpose. Morning Assembly was conducted in Hindi and news, amazing facts and thought were spoken in Hindi. For the students of Std I & II poem recitation, for III & IV storytelling, for V Speech presentation on any poet/writer and for VI & VII ‘Doha’ singing & explaining was organized. After the selection round, final round was taken and winners were declared.

Faculty Development Program by Navrachana University

SVM school is committed to the holistic development of not only her students but also her teachers. To continue with her efforts, a FDP was organized for the staff where two eminent personalities from Navrachana University came to hone the skills of the teachers. Dr. Vaibahvi Padya is a Gold medalist in B.Ed and her various papers have been published in National Conferences & seminars. Dr. Rishi Balwaria’s over 17 articles have been published in various journals. Both the speakers presented their presentation on ‘Questioning, Probing and Reinforcement skill of teaching’. They told the importance ‘questioning’ holds in the learning process of students. The presentation was highly effective and the Q.Ans session solved the residual queries of the teachers.

Teacher’s Evaluation Rotary

Rotary Club of Bharuch under the aegis of Rotary India Literacy Mission recognizes the contribution of teachers to the society by giving them Nation Builder Award every year. This year also Rtn. Kamaljeet Kaur Bunet and Rtn. Rachana Poddar came to our school for teacher’s evaluation. Students were given a questionnaire and after due consultation with the director, three teachers from the school were chosen for the award. Kalpana Nimbhore, Sheetal Shah & Snigdha Sarkar got the awards this year.

Maths Science fair

A CRC (cluster level) Maths-Science Fair was held by the Primary department of Education, Bharuch at Government Primary School, Bholav, Bharuch. Three models were put on display by SVM school. One titled ‘Space and Water conservation at home for gardening’ , the second ‘Weighing machine for domestic use’ and the third ‘Technology used for preservation of monuments’. Our model ‘Space and Water conservation at home for gardening’ made by Freya Parmar and Tithi Rana won the 1st place in the CRC (cluster level) and now we we are elgible to participate at the Taluka level science competition to be held on 15th December 2022.

Medical camp

SVM school is committed to the holistic development and wellness of her students. As part of this journey, in coordination with the Primary Health Centre (PHC) dholikui, Bharuch, we organized a General Medical Health Check-up Camp for the benefit of our students on 23rd & 24th November 2022. Well qualified doctors Dr. Maliha Patel, Dr. Imtiaz Chhota, Dr. Asif Master & Dr. Hina Patel along with Pharmacist Hina Patel & Soyeb Patel and nurse Sumitra Vasava carried out the camp with dedication, compassion and thoughtfulness.

Children’s Day

The Pre-primary section of the school celebrated Children’s day with fun & frolic. Students enjoyed various games including ball balancing, musical chair and magic box and poured all their enthusiasm and energy in the dances that followed.

Navratri Celebration

The festival of Navratri was celebrated with gusto in the premises of SVM School on 1st October 2022. The director of SVM school Shri Devang Thakore envisioned two beautiful competitions for students and teachers which were in harmony with the vibrant vibes of the festival. A Garba competition was organised for the children in various categories according to their classes. Students came traditionally dressed that day wearing colourful dresses. Mrs Priya Kadakia, Mrs. Parisha Rajani and Mrs Shilpa Thakkar judged the students on the basis of their performance and dressing.
The boys and girls were adjudged for the First & Runner-up positions in two categories namely the Best Performer and the Best Dressed. The Pre primary section enjoyed the celebration by dancing on the tunes of garba songs. An Aarti thali decoration competition was also organised on the same day for the teachers who prepared beautiful Aarti thalis with different material. Rtn. Mrs. Madhu Singh, President of the Rotary Club of Bharuch FEMINA and Rtn.Mrs Rani Chhabra adjudged the competition and prizes were given away to the winners. The Assistant Governor Rtn Manisha Thakore, Chairperson of the Interact club of BUDDING ACHIEVERS was especially helpful in managing the event.

The Indian Navy Quiz

A quiz competition was organized by the Indian Navy to give a platform to students to test their knowledge and competitive spirit. Sakina Ankleshwariya & Pushti Patel participated in the competition and were selected for the second elimination round. About 7500 schools across the country participated in elimination one round and 50% were selected for round two. Attractive prizes are offered by the Indian Navy to the winners and the Final round will take place on board INS Vikramaditya. It is a very challenging competition as the questions are asked from different topics across the continents. Being selected for round two is a very prestigious event for both the team members and for the school as out of around 4000 teams 2000 teams were selected for round two.

GK & English Olympiads

Olympiad exams are conducted every year in the school which are organised by Science Olympiad Foundation. GK Olympiad was taken on 15th September and English on 22nd September 2022 in the school. 54 students enrolled themselves for GK & 33 for English. This exam helps to enhance the general knowledge, language skills, logical reasoning and problem solving abilities in our children.

GKIQ Test 2022-23

GKIQ Exam (organized by Vikas Vartul Trust, Bhavnagar) was conducted by SVM Higher Secondary School, Bharuch for the year 2022-23. The question paper comprised of 120 questions on logical thinking, reasoning, current affairs, basic Maths, IT and Gujarati grammar. The exam was conducted within school premises in which our school students from Std 5th to 12th participated.
Total 162 students participated in the exam out of 185 enrolled students .This exam will help students in future to come out with flying colours in the examinations such as CAT, NDA, IAS, LIC, BANK, UPSC and GPSC thus inculcating competitive attitude among students. One more feather was added in the cap of SVM school when Freya Parmar of Std VIII was selected for the second level of the competition hosted by SVM school on 11th September 2022. Freya was among 31 other students who got selected from various schools across the district.

TD Vaccine

A vaccination camp, under the Health Ministry Gujarat, was organized in SVM school to administer TD vaccine to students aged 10 & 16 years. Trained nurses from Government Health Centre, Dholikui, came for the inoculation of 39 students.

Teacher’s day

‘Good teachers are the reasons why ordinary students do extraordinary things’. SVM School celebrated Teacher’s day with zeal & fervor. Students prepared a wonderful programme for the teachers which included skits, dances, songs & speeches. They also dressed up as teachers & went to teach in various classes.

Ganpati image/idol making

To mark the birthday of Lord Ganesha, a Ganpati image/idol making competition was organized for the students. Students of Std 1st to 9th participated in the competition. Students made beautiful Ganpati images and idols with various material including paper cups, leaves, vegetables, fruits, craft paper, clay, beads and other decorative material. The ideas were innovative and creative. The judges were Mrs. Manjusha Srivastava & Mrs. Urvi Pandya. The students of Pre primary section thoroughly enjoyed the celebration as they made Ganesh by using colourful decorative papers, paper cups and bindis!

Training on Fire & safety

‘Fire is a good servant but a bad master’. To aware students & teachers on fire & safety, a training programme was organized by SVM School. Shri Anil Choumal , dealing with fire and rescue for the last 35 years was the trainer. He showed a movie to all showcasing the reasons of fire and the means to control it. After the movie a practical training was given to the students & teachers on how to operate the three types of fire extinguishers available in the school where a few students and teachers were made to operate the fire extinguishers. They were told about various types of fires and the means to put it out. The training was very beneficial for all.

Sanskrit Diwas

Sanskrit is the purest & the most systematic language in the world. To promote and appreciate one of the oldest languages of the world, Sanskrit Diwas was celebrated in the school. Students presented a Sanskrit skit depicting the Eklavya- Dronacharya incident. Shlokas were presented in Sanskrit and were translated in English. A dance was performed by the girls of Std VIII on a Sanskrit song. The Director of the school Shri Devang Thakore enumerated the importance that Sanskrit holds in the culture of the country.

Janmashtami Celebration

SVM school celebrated “Janmashtami’ amidst merriment. Dressed as Radha & Krishna, the students added a traditional touch to entire celebration when they danced to the beats of Janmashtami songs. The breaking of “Dahi Handi’ was the most significant event of the entire celebration. The students of Pre primary section decorated paper Matki and paper flute.

Rakhi making

To celebrate the bond of love between a brother and sister the festival of Rakshabandhan is celebrated all over the country with zeal and traditional fervor. SVM school marked the occasion by organizing a “Rakhi making” competition. Colourful & beautiful ‘rakhis’ were made by the students with paper, cloth, seeds, ear buds and other craft material. All the ‘rakhis’ were displayed at the entrance of the school.

Monoacting is a way by which a person can present a single or multiple characters. Students of Std VI to VIII took part in this special event and presented the characters of Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi bai, Mangal Pandey, Lala Lajpat Rai among many others.

For the student of Std IV & V a flag making activity was planned and they made flags with creativity and innovation. Flags by grains. lights, craft material, cloth were diligently made by the students.

Nukkad Natak

SVM club of Budding Achievers presented a nukkad natak on the importance & significance of flag. Students showed the journey of the flag and conveyed to the audience the importance of each colour of the flag. They also told about Pingali Venkayya, the creator of our national flag. The ‘natak’ was very well received by the audience.

A race competition was organised under the aegis ‘Har ghar Tiranga’ in Sanskar Vidya Bhavan where around 150 students participated from various school. Students from SVM school also participated in the event.

A painting workshop was organized by Narayan Vidhya Vihar for the students whereby they were given training in painting for five days. Freya Parmar of Std VIII participated in the workshop and got her painting skills sharpened up.

Colouring activity

Colouring is a way of building intellect and to explore one’s creativity. It introduces a child to a plethora of colours and supports hand & eye coordination. The students of Pre Primary section expressed their talent of colouring in the “Colouring Competition’ organized for them on 28th July, Thursday. The students were given ‘Doraemon’ drawing to fill it with a spectrum of colours.
