‘ANANTA’ - An Interact District Conference

RID 3060 hosted ‘ANANTA’ – ‘Uniting for Infinite Impact’, a dynamic and engaging conference on April 26, 2025, in Vadodara. The event brought together Interact Clubs from across the district, igniting a spirit of leadership, service and innovation among the youth. The program began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by District Governor Rtn. Tushar Shah and First Lady Rtn. Nehal Shah, symbolizing enlightenment and commitment to community service.

The conference featured three impactful sessions:
1) Mrs. Nisha Amin led the session on “Start-Up of Business and Make it fit for the society,”
2) CA Raghavendra Jhala spoke on the importance of discipline, teamwork and physical well-being in achieving personal and professional excellence.
3) A Game-Based learning session included a lively treasure hunt and quiz, encouraging teamwork, communication and bonding among participants.
The event also showcased presentations from 10 Interact Clubs, highlighting impactful student-led projects. Notably, the project “Bird Watching” by SVMS Budding Achievers was selected for its innovation and impact.

Salad Decoration Competitione

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, our school organized a delightful Salad Decoration Competition for Mother Parents. The event aimed to celebrate womanhood, promote healthy eating habits and encourage creativity. Mothers participated enthusiastically, showcasing their skills by preparing beautifully decorated salad platters. Each creation reflected not only culinary talent but also creativity and an understanding of nutrition right from symbolic designs, representing women’s strength to floral patterns, the presentations were impressive. The judging panel included Mrs. Arti Ruia, Mrs. Kruti Shah &Mrs.Sonali Shah. The participants were evaluated on uniformity in cutting, adding edible fruits and berries, nutritional value, creativity & presentation, overall attraction and appetizing look. Director of the school Shri Devang Thakore praised the mothers for their dedication and innovative ideas. The event concluded with a heartfelt speech by judges, who emphasized the vital role of mothers and appreciated the spirit of participation in competition. The competition was a memorable and joyful celebration of Women’s Day that empowered and appreciated the incredible contribution of women in every sphere of life.

Great Backyard Bird Count

SVM School, under her ‘Sarayu Eco Club’ made history as the first school in the city to host the globally recognized Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) on 17th February 2025, in collaboration with Bird Count India. Students of Std 6 to 8 enthusiastically participated in the event gazing birds & owls intently for the first time in their life. 6 trainers had come for the activity with high end binoculars. Students and teachers actively participated in identifying and documenting various bird species, including resident and migratory birds, contributing valuable data to the global eBird database. Experts guided participants, fostering awareness about bird conservation and ecology. The event was an inspiring success, sparking students’ interest in bird watching and environmental conservation.

Republic Day Celebration

We celebrated the 76th Republic day with patriotic fervour and zeal. A grand cultural programme was organised where students presented a mind blowing display of their artistic talent be it singing, dancing or dramas. The unfurling of the flag was done by Shri Shashikant Patel, Chairman, SVM which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The Guests of Honour were Shri Jivraj Patel, Secretary, SVM and Shri Paresh Bhatt, Director, The Advice & Assist. The director of the school Shri Devang Thakore welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of the event. The Kiduzz of Pre Primary section danced on some romantic tunes and presented a well executed drama on Unity is Strength. Students of Primary section presented a drama on the life of a soldier and presented a synchronized dance, marking the achievements of ISRO.The student of higher sections formed various shapes & formations leaving the audience wonder struck. Winners of different competitions were awarded with trophies and certificates by the guests. The unfurling of the Achievers’ Board was the highlight of the ceremony where the board displaying the names and photographs of the toppers were demonstrated. The Guest of Honour Shri Paresh Bhatt had a brain storming session with the parents who made them think about the way they are dealing with their children and the need to spend more time with them. The whole event represented the essence of India’s rich cultural diversity and captivated the audience with its emotional depth. It was a beautiful blend highlighting not only the achievements of India’s unique Unity in diversity but was also a visual representation of its rich culture.

Vasantotsav

Vasantotsav, a festival dedicated to Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, learning & arts, marks the arrival of Spring (Vasant Ritu). We celebrated the occasion with cultural pride & reverence of knowledge. The students & teachers came together for commemorating the festival. The day began with a special assembly where the significance of Vasant Panchami was explained. The students learnt about the traditions & customs associated with the festival and the reasons of celebrating it. The school was decorated with yellow flowers. The students presented Welcome dance on musical Saraswati mantra. Few other dances and songs were presented with elegance & grace, reflecting the classical art forms, featuring songs dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, filling the air with divine atmosphere. Vasant Panchami is also the day when the city of Bharuch was founded. The history of Bharuch and the important landmarks and entities related to the city were told to the students. The event ended with the singing of ‘Narmadashtakam’.

Session on First Aid & CPR

To train the students & staff on first Aid & CPR a session was organized on Tuesday, 3/12/24 in the school. The students of Students’ council & teaching & non teaching staff of the school attended the seminar. The trainer was Mr. Nilesh Vejpara, a trainer associated with Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority. and Red Cross. Following were the main points of the seminar-
• Need of First Aid- For wounds, diabetic attack, road accidents, heart attack, epilepsy, drowning
• What is First Aid?- Aid given to a person before the arrival of the doctor
• Necessity-To keep First Aid kits at various places in the school
• Aims- To save a person’s life, prevention of situation from worsening.
• Who can give a First Aid? – Doctor, Nurse or trained persons
• How to give? Diagnosis-Treatment-Transportation
• Follow DRABC- Danger-Response-Airway-Breathing- Circulation
• CPR-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation-If a person is unconscious and not breathing
• Recovery position-Unconscious but breathing

Seminar on Fire & Safety

A seminar for students and teachers on ‘Fire & Safety’ was organized for students and the staff on Saturday, 30/11/24. The seminar took place in two sessions, one for the students of Std 8, 9 & 10 and second for the teaching & non teaching staff of the school. The trainer was Mr. Anil Choumal, an EHS professional with over 4 decades of experience in the field. Following were the main points of the seminar-
• Types of unusual Fire-Kitchen oil Fire, B’day Fire, Christmas Fire
• Reasons of Fire- Decorative material, chemicals
• Before Fire- SMFC (including Chairman, Principal, Vice Principal, teachers), Transport team, emergency support
• After Fire- Secure the building
• Preparedness- Be ready with building evacuation plan, visit the nearby hospital
• To extinguish the Fire- Remove fuel-remove heat, use fire extinguisher
• Classes of fire- Combustible solids, flammable liquids, flammable gases
• How to use extinguisher-PULL-AIM-SQUEEZE-SWEEP

Indoor Sports (Table Tennis)

We are committed for the holistic development of the students including sports. Indoor Sports Competition of Table Tennis was organized for the students. For the final round of umpiring a renowned Table Tennis player Mr. Sanjay Beniwal was invited. Students gave their best performance and the winners were honoured. Director of the school appreciated the efforts put in by the students.

Yoga Day Celebration

International Day of Yoga was celebrated in our school with active participation from students & teachers. The day started with speeches by students highlighting the benefits of Yoga. Students of Std 1 to 12 performed various Yoga Asanas. After warm up exercises, many sitting & standing Yoga Asanas were demonstrated, importance of whose was explained simultaneously. The celebration fostered unity and health awareness among the participants.
